Yes. There are dictionaries that authorized patrons may check out of the university libraries. In addition, there are many electronic resources available as databases and ebooks.

Click this link to run a subject search for English Language Dictionaries. Most English dictionaries are located on Level 3 in the PE 1628 section.

Dictionaries for the modern and classical languages taught at UW are available. Click the following links to run a search. Look for the call number and location in the item description.

Many other English dictionaries for other classical or modern languages are available. Use a keyword search in the main catalog: [language] English dictionary. For example, Hindi English dictionary.

A large dictionary available for ready reference is located on Level 2 of Coe by the pillar with public computer terminals near room 216. Ask at the Help Desk of the other branch libraries for the location of dictionaries.
