Thank you for asking this question. Putting the books that you don't want to check out in a specific location helps us to get them re-shelved in a prompt manner.

There are book carts located on each floor of Coe Library where you may place books that you have looked at. These carts should all have a sign on them that reads something like "Place Books Here." Several times a day our employees pick up the books and put them in the queue for the shelvers.

You may also drop off books that you don't want to check out at the circulation desk on Coe Level 2. You may also put the books in the "Book Return" slots located on the circulation desk.

The branch libraries (Geology, Annex, LRC) all have similar carts where you can place the books.
