The library has over one-million electronic books (ebooks). These books are provided by different vendors and are on different platforms. In general, only UW-affiliated patrons (students, faculty, staff) can access the ebooks. Public patrons must use the public computers at the university libraries to read these texts. The exceptions are the Cloud Library ebooks and the One-Click Digital audiobooks. These books are available to patrons of UW and the Wyoming Public Library system.
Our ebooks are listed in our public catalog and often patrons from libraries outside of Laramie or Wyoming want to use these books. Unfortunately, these books are obtained through subscriptions with specific licensure and copyright restrictions that prevent them from being shared outside of UW. In these instances, patrons from those libraries are urged to contact their local library to see if a print copy may be obtained from another source.
