The Oxford English Dictionary, or OED, is available online through the databases. Click on the orange "Databases" button on the main UW Libraries webpage, then locate the "Databases by Title" near the top of the next webpage. Click on "O" and scroll down to "Oxford English Dictionary (OED)."

The direct link to the OED is provided here.

Access is limited to UW students, faculty, and staff. If off-campus, authorized patrons will need to log in through the proxy server. Public / Non-UW patrons do not have access to this subscription, although the public terminals in the library will allow access.

An older print edition of the OED (20 volumes total) is available in the Folio section on Level 1 of Coe Library. The call number for the dictionary is PE1625 .O87 1989.
