The USB hubs on the public computers at UW have been inactivated as a security measure. The computer will not recognize a USB device that is plugged in.

You will not be able to save items you locate on the public computers, including articles from the available databases, to a portable USB (jump)drive. The best alternative is to save the article to the computer desktop, then send an email to yourself and attach the articles.

Be aware that the public computers are "wiped" each night, so any article you do save to the desktop will disappear.
