Citation generators in ProQuest and other databases are usually accurate but not completely foolproof. It is always a good idea to check the entries. The library has current editions of APA, MLA, or other style guides available at the Help Desk on Level 2 of Coe for in-library use. In addition, other copies of various style guides are available in the stacks and at other UW branch libraries.

Many librarians and faculty recommend the Online Writing Lab at Purdue as a quick source of examples for APA, MLA, and Chicago citation styles. UW Libraries also has a Citation and Style Guide library guide available on-line.
