According the the Department of Political Science webpage on the Challenge Exam, "Students should obtain the books for POLS 1000, which include American Government: Power and Purpose, 14th edition (2017), as well as The Equality State: Government and Politics in Wyoming, 8th edition (2017)."
The University Store (formerly UW Bookstore) has copies of these books for purchase.
Regarding availability at Coe Library:
- American Government : Power and Purpose, 14th edition 2017) Unfortunately, UW Libraries do not have the 14th edition or older editions of this book. An interlibrary loan request using Request It is a possible source of this text. However, given that this is a recently published textbook, it is highly unlikely that a copy of the 14th edition is available. Older editions of that text may be available.
- The Equality State: Government and Politics in Wyoming, 8th edition (2017) Multiple copies of this book are available. Check at the Help Desk to see if a "Reserve" copy is available for checkout before heading to the stacks. However, be aware that time constraints apply to reserve items. Older editions of the text are available. Click this link to view a complete catalog listing.
Students are to read the U.S. and Wyoming Constitutions in preparation for the exam.
