UW Libraries have access to many historical Wyoming newspapers in print, microform, and digitized format.

Through the Newsbank digital newspapers database, UW students, faculty, and staff have access to the Casper Star-Tribune. The date range is January 1997 to current date. Click this link to go to that database. Sign in with your WyoWeb username and password if prompted.

ProQuest U.S. Newsstream has access to the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle published in Cheyenne from 1992 to present. This is the only Wyoming newspaper in that database. Click on the "Publications" menu item near the top of the webpage, then type in "Wyoming" in the "Publication Search" box and press enter. The page will next display links to articles in the current issue. The options on the page will allow for searching for other dates or a keyword search.

The Wyoming Digital Newspapers Collection has access to hundreds of newspapers published in Wyoming since the 1870s. Click this link to visit the main page to search or browse.

Articles that are in the public domain (published before 1924) are generally available for immediate download as a PDF. UW students, faculty, and staff can request articles through the Interlibrary Loan service at UW Libraries. Public patrons will need to use their public library to request an article.

Copies of many old Wyoming newspapers are on microfilm and can be viewed in Coe Library. These films and fiche cannot be shared by interlibrary loan, but images of articles can be requested if the pages are known. The library is not staffed to provide research for articles. Click this link to view the microfilm viewing information on the Historical Newspapers research guide.  Finding guides to Cheyenne and Laramie newspapers are available on the "Finding Newspapers in the Library" tab.

This link will load the Historical Newspapers research guide, which has information about not only old Wyoming newspapers, but links to databases with historical newspapers from around the world back to the 1700s.

This link will load the Newspapers research guide, which has information on how to access current and more recent newspapers.

Old issues of the University of Wyoming newspapers are available. Click this link to view an FAQ on how to access these publications.
