The UW Libraries has a digital-access subscription to The Washington Post that all student, faculty, and staff may access. Non-UW patrons do not have access.

For computer-based access, here is the link to the newspaper. Click that link. Sign on with your WyoWeb/UW username and password if prompted. You will land on the full website and all content. The UW access includes everything, even streaming video and puzzles.

In addition, UW users can now register for a Washington Post (WaPo) account that is accessible from off campus and on any mobile device. Follow these instructions to set up the account using your @uwyo.edu email.

Subscription Activation

1. Visit and sign-up for an account. to sign-up with your organization’s email address. You will receive a notification in your UW email to confirm your subscription. Make sure that you complete this step.

  • Enter your associated email address, agree to the Terms of Service and hit Continue
  • Choose a password and click create an account

2. Click on Your Name in the upper right-hand corner

3. Click My Post

4. Once you are in My Post, click Manage Account on your right hand side.

Signing In

5. Make sure your email address is Verified, if not, click “Unverified” to be sent
a verification email.
6. Once verified, click over to the Subscription & Billing tab.

7 Click Activate free digital access

If you are unable to log-in using your computer or mobile device, here are a couple of troubleshooting recommendations:

If you are using a virtual private network (VPN) such as the UW-provided "Pulse Secure" or another VPN app, you will need to turn that off to sign-in.

If you are not using a VPN and still can't log on, you may need to make sure your web browser is up-to-date and use one of the recommended browsers (Firefox or Chrome for Windows, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari for Mac).

You may need to clear your cache or history. See this FAQ.

The UW Libraries continues to receive a print copy of each issue of The Washington Post. These issues are located on Level 1 (basement) of Coe Library across from the DVDs. These issues can only be read in the library and cannot be checked out.

The library also has access to historic WaPo issues through the following databases:

Washington Post Recent, 2008-3 months ago (ProQuest database)

Washington Post, 1877-1997 (ProQuest Historical Newspapers database)
